Soundfield SPS200-SB ambisonic microphone in Cinela Zephyx windshield
This is one of the best ambisonic microphones available to purchase. It is low noise and high quality, whilst also being lightweight (only 220 grams, half that of the Sennheiser Ambeo). It is mounted within the Cinema Zephyx windshield, which is worth £900 itself! It comes with a 3m Lemo cable to 4-way XLR loom. It is perfect for location recording (it doesn’t have a control unit unlike other Soundfield microphones). The sound can be decoded using Soundfield’s free SurroundZone2 software, or a variety of other free plug-ins. Recently serviced by Rode/Soundfield.
